Project Natal Is Not Racist
Microsoft has responded to claims that Project Natal is unable to track the movements of people with dark skin. The company says the technology works with everyone and even used a video of Sugar Ray Leonard, Eric Dickerson and Willie Gault all playing games without any issues as an example.
African-American videogames journalist N'Gai Croal was reported to have had problems steering Burnout Paradise using Project Natal during a demonstration at E3. Early reaction on NeoGAF claimed that the melanin in black skin interferes with near-infrared spectroscopy, which Project Natal apparently uses.
If there is a real controversy in Project Natal it is the full body motion capture that focuses on 48 interest points on a human body. Why? Because of THIS.
